Craig M. Avery

MD, Business Development & Client Services at First Clearing

Craig began his connection with Wells Fargo Advisors in 2003, as a Wells Fargo Advisor Financial Network (FINET) business owner and Financial Advisor at Lionstones Wealth Management, and later as both Regional Director of Recruiting and then Divisional Director of Business Development for FiNet. During his time in FiNet, Craig also built out FiNet’s Innovation & Growth team, which helped find new and better ways for FiNet business owners to grow and enhance equity in their independent practices.

For the last few years, Craig has been leading business development teams of First Clearing, charged with attracting Broker-Dealers, Financial Advisors, and the Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) to the First Clearing Platform. Craig also manages the Transition Services and Correspondent Services groups, ensuring client firm satisfaction throughout their entire experience with First Clearing, from client onboarding to operational escalation and resolution.

Prior to his employment with Wells Fargo, Craig spent time in management consulting at both Andersen Consulting and KPMG Consulting, as a Financial Advisor at Merrill Lynch, and as a senior leader with TMX Finance.

Craig is a 13-year veteran and former Captain of the U.S. Army, has been married 24 years to his wife, Eva, and has four children. Craig is very involved in several non-profit community organizations including leadership roles within the St. Louis VP Parade, Mary Queen of Peace Parish, and the Boy Scouts of America, as well as being a certified firearms instructor and survival skills instructor.
