Chris Aarhus is an accomplished professional in the field of writing and editing with extensive experience in sports journalism and organizational communication. Currently serving as a Board Member for First Community Credit Union since July 2023, Chris has also held the position of Editor at North Dakota Farmers Union since August 2016, where responsibilities include content creation for a monthly magazine distributed to over 36,000 members and co-managing the organization's website. Previous roles include Sportswriter at Jamestown Sun from May 2012 to July 2016, where Chris contributed to daily sports coverage, and Sports Editor at The Minot Daily News from December 2010 to May 2012, leading a team while also writing and photographing sports content. Chris holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Writing from Dickinson State University.

First Community Credit Union
Our community first laid its foundation in Jamestown, North Dakota in 1939. Since that time, we've grown to 29 branches across North Dakota and Western Minnesota, in towns of all sizes. First Community has the largest membership of all credit unions in North Dakota, with a field of membership that covers over a third of the state and into Western Minnesota. As a credit union, FCCU is owned by its members. This is different than banks, which are owned by a select group of stockholders. The credit union's profits are returned to the members in the form of better services, accounts, and favorable rates on savings and loans. FCCU was recently named Community Credit Union of the year by Credit Union National Association. It's a national award and we're honored to tell you we won it for our service to our members, our community, and because of our strong financial condition.
