Angelina Mangiardi

Program Manager - Participant Engagement and Recruitment at First Descents

Angelina Mangiardi has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Angelina is currently working at First Descents as a Program Manager, responsible for participant engagement and recruitment. Prior to this role, they worked at First Descents as a Program Coordinator from January 2019 to December 2021.

In 2020, Angelina served as the Marketing Director at Denver Delivery Network, where they played a crucial role in initiating the marketing strategy for a nonprofit team delivering essential items to high-risk individuals during the COVID pandemic. Angelina also focused on creating awareness and recruiting community volunteers through social media content.

From 2017 to 2018, Angelina worked as a Farm-to-School Coordinator at Malama Kauai, a nonprofit organization focused on sustainable economic development. In this role, they developed and launched Kaua`i's pilot Farm-to-School program, providing wholesome daily lunches to over 150 students and procuring over 50% of the ingredients locally.

Before that, they worked as an Environmental Education Program Assistant at the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) in 2017. Their responsibilities included developing and leading science camps in remote villages throughout Alaska, focusing on topics such as bioaccumulation, climate change, and field research skills for youth grades 5-12.

Angelina's work experience also includes being a Historical Interpreter at Hancock Shaker Village from 2010 to 2015, where they educated the public on Shaker gardens, sustainability, history, architecture, and religion through interactive tours and lectures. Angelina also designed private tours tailored to specific groups and developed a farm and sustainability training plan.

In addition, Angelina worked as a Sales Representative at Raser Jewelry from 2012 to 2014, a Merchandising Intern at Oscar de la Renta in 2013, and as an Editorial Photographic Stylist for freelance projects in early 2013.

Angelina Mangiardi is currently pursuing an Associate's degree in Fashion Business Management from the Fashion Institute of Technology. The degree program started at an unspecified time and is expected to be completed by 2021. Prior to attending the Fashion Institute of Technology, Angelina Mangiardi obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Environmental Science, Policy, and Social Change from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. This degree was earned between 2014 and 2016.
