Lead Chef, Seasonal at First Descents

Gabrielle Kennedy has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Gabrielle began their career in 2003 as an English Teacher for the Cross Cultural Solutions Intern Abroad Program. From 2003 to 2005, they worked as a Special Education Paraprofessional at Cobb County, where they supported teachers and assisted students with lesson plans and teaching.

In 2006, Gabrielle co-founded Press 8 Collective, a company that facilitated market-changing innovation by providing product design, sourcing, and marketing resources to clients. Gabrielle served as the co-founder and managing partner until 2013.

From 2007 to 2013, Gabrielle was the co-founder of Malcolm Fontier Accessories (now known as Pakt Bags), a designer line of soft goods accessories. In this role, they managed all aspects of company PR, including press releases, relationships with editors, wholesale account management, and customer service. Their PR pitch led to one of the bags being featured in the documentary "Minimalism."

In 2013, Gabrielle began working as a freelance Natural Foods Chef, offering their services as a private chef, travel chef, and humanitarian chef. Gabrielle also worked for Fancy Girl Table as a Natural Foods Chef, where they specialized in vegan, vegetarian, and animal protein preparation. Gabrielle assisted in developing new menu items and regularly served as a head chef for events.

Starting in 2014, Gabrielle worked for First Descents as a Lead Chef, planning menus, shopping for ingredients, and cooking healthy meals for a group of 20. Gabrielle also served as a seasonal chef for adventure vacations catering to young adult cancer fighters and survivors.

In 2018, Gabrielle became the Culinary Director and Founder of Cape Wellness Collaborative Inc. Gabrielle created Wellness Eats, a meal delivery and nutrition program for residents undergoing active cancer treatment. Gabrielle prepared highly customized recipes tailored to dietary restrictions and preferences and led a team in cooking and delivering meals weekly. Their tenure at Cape Wellness Collaborative ended in May 2022.

Most recently, Gabrielle Kennedy joined Common Threads in 2021 as a Chef Instructor, utilizing their culinary expertise to educate others.

Gabrielle Kennedy has a diverse education history. Gabrielle attended Georgia State University from 1998 to 2002, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology. In 2012, they enrolled at the Natural Gourmet Institute for Health and Culinary Arts, completing a program in Natural Foods Culinary Professional. During this program, they focused on Health-Supportive Culinary Arts and Holistic Nutrition. Additionally, Gabrielle has obtained two certifications to enhance their culinary skills and knowledge. In 2012, they obtained a Food Protection Certificate from the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. In 2018, they earned a ServSafe Workplace certification from ServSafe Certified.
