Chris S. currently serves as Chief Lending Officer and SVP of Lending at First Financial Credit Union and an Albuquerque-based Credit Union, positions held since February 2021. Previously, Chris held various roles in lending and management, including VP of Mortgage Lending at Credit Union from January 2018 to February 2021, and VP of Sales & Service at Rio Grande Credit Union from June 2013 to December 2017. Earlier experience includes MB Processing Team Manager at JPMorgan Chase and VP Retail Lending at TCF National Bank, where Chris managed significant lending portfolios and regional revenue responsibilities. Chris began a career as an Investment Representative at American Fronteer Financial, focusing on training and mentoring banking staff on financial products. Chris holds a BS in Finance from Illinois State University, conferred in 1997.

First Financial Credit Union was formed in 1937 by ten members of the telephone company here in New Mexico. In the early 80s, the breakup of the Bell System occurred. With the breakup came a period of downsizing in the state. At this point, First Financial chose to pursue additional fields of membership so as to not be impacted by the changes in its environment.
