Alison Filby is an experienced leader in learning and development with a career spanning several key roles in prominent organizations. Since December 2014, Alison has served as the Head of Learning and Development at Great Western Railway, overseeing professional learning, talent management, and succession planning for approximately 6,000 employees. Alison was recognized with the Personnel Today Awards HR Impact in 2015. Prior to GWR, Alison held various roles at London Underground from 2003 to 2014, including Programme Resource Manager for a £4.2bn upgrade project and Head of Capability Development for a 1,200-strong program management community. Earlier experience includes independent consulting at Valks Filby Maher Ltd and management positions at London Underground and Austin Knight, where Alison managed recruitment advertising accounts. Alison holds a Master of Arts in Human Resource Management from Middlesex University and two Bachelor's degrees in Geography from the University of London and Bedford College.
