Neill Char

Vice Chairman, Retail Banking Group at First Hawaiian Bank

Neill Char is Executive Vice President of the Retail Banking Group and was appointed to First Hawaiian Bank’s Senior Management Committee in August 2020. He is responsible for the development of the business banking segment and will oversee the Main, Kapiolani and Pearlridge Banking Centers as well as a dedicated team of business bankers across the state. He previously served as the Executive Vice President and Manager of the Private Wealth and Wealth Advisory Divisions in the Wealth Management Group where he led a team of private bankers and wealth advisors in servicing high net worth clients with their banking and financial planning needs. He has over 26 years of banking experience in the areas of wealth management, corporate, business and branch banking. He joined the bank in 2001 as a Corporate Banker in the Corporate Banking Division and later served as the University Branch Manager. He is a Board member and Treasurer for the Hawaii Foodbank and a director of the Oahu Economic Development Board. He also serves as a Board member and Treasurer of the Jean Charlot Foundation. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance from the University of Hawaii and is an honors graduate of the Pacific Coast Banking School.
