David Soares

David Soares, CPA, CA, MBA, ICD.D, currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer at First Majestic Silver Corp. since March 2022. Previously, David held CFO positions at Kirkland Lake Gold from November 2018 to February 2022, Baffinland from October 2017 to November 2018, and at Barrick Gold Corporation for the Pueblo Viejo Dominican Corporation from September 2015 to October 2017. David’s earlier experience includes leadership roles at Glencore as President and General Manager of Operations and Director of Finance at Falconbridge Dominicana S.A., and as Superintendant of Finance and Tax at Xstrata Copper North America. Academically, David holds a Chartered Professional Accountant designation from CPA Canada, an MBA from Ivey Business School, a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Toronto, and the ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors, along with completion of the Directors Education Program at ICD-Rotman.
