Michael L. Scudder

Chairman at First Midwest Bank

Michael L. Scudder is the Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of First Midwest Bancorp, Inc. and the Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of First Midwest Bank. He also serves as the Chairman of the Advisory Committee of the First Midwest Board and Chairman of the First Midwest Charitable Foundation.

Prior to his current appointment in September 2008, Mr. Scudder served as First Midwest Bancorp’s President and Chief Operating Officer beginning in May 2007, and as its Chief Financial Officer from January 2002 to May 2007. He also has served in various other management capacities in his over 30 years of service to First Midwest. Mr. Scudder began his professional career at KPMG.

Mr. Scudder is a member of the board of trustees of DePaul University and the executive committee of DePaul University’s Center for Financial Services. He also is a member of the board of directors of Silver Cross Hospital and a member of the Metropolitan Planning Council’s Executive Advisory Board. In addition, Mr. Scudder is an active member of the American Bankers Association’s CEO Council and the Mid-Size Bank Coalition of America, as well as the Economic Club of Chicago, the Banker’s Club of Chicago, the Chicago Club and the Commercial Club of Chicago.

Mr. Scudder earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Illinois Wesleyan University in 1982, and an MBA from DePaul University in 1993.
