Karen Mooder Mph

Director, Provincial Clinical Innovation at First Nations Health Authority

Karen Mooder, MPH, PhD has a diverse work experience in the field of public health. Karen currently holds the position of A/Director Community Based Testing and Biomedical Initiatives at the First Nations Health Authority since March 2022. Prior to this, Karen served as a Senior Director, Laboratory Operations at the Provincial Health Services Authority starting from October 2015. From July 2008 to October 2015, they worked at the British Columbia Institute of Technology as Faculty/Program Head/Associate Dean. Karen also worked as a Consultant/Genetics Investigator at Champagne and Aishihik First Nations from January 2005 to April 2009. During this time, they also worked as a Senior Scientist at Sirius Genomics from May 2006 to July 2008. Karen has held positions as a Senior Fellow at the University of Washington from December 2004 to April 2006 and as a Post-doctoral fellow at the University of Alberta from March 2004 to December 2004.

Karen Mooder, MPH, PhD obtained their Master of Public Health (MPH) degree from The University of British Columbia, where they studied between 2015 and 2017. Karen completed their PhD in Genetics, Biological/Forensic Anthropology at the University of Alberta from 1998 to 2004.
