Leena Hasan has extensive experience in public health and research, currently serving as a Research Advisor and Qualitative Analyst at the First Nations Health Authority since January 2017. Leena participated in a professional development program at the David Suzuki Foundation as a Camp Suzuki Participant in August 2016, and took part in an instructional skills workshop at Simon Fraser University in the same month. Other notable experiences include serving as a Teaching Assistant at Simon Fraser University, participating in a summer school program focused on health and sustainability with the Public Health Association of British Columbia, and completing a research fellowship with the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research in Bangladesh. Leena’s early career included an internship with the World Health Organization in climate change and health. Educational qualifications include a Master of Public Health from Simon Fraser University, a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Manitoba, and a Bachelor's Degree in Biochemistry from The University of Winnipeg.
