Alberto Casas

Alberto Casas has extensive experience in the engineering and construction sectors, with a career spanning several decades. Currently serving as the CSR Latin America at First Quantum Minerals since November 2011, responsibilities include overseeing Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives across projects in Panama, Peru, and Argentina. Prior to this role, Alberto was the Vice President of Latin America Operations at MWH Global, managing financial responsibilities and major projects, including the Panama Canal Third Set of Locks project. As the owner of Casas Construction Corporation from 1988 to 1995, Alberto led a construction company focused on services for pharmaceutical clients in Puerto Rico. Earlier experience includes serving as a Project Manager with Metcalf & Eddy, where oversight was provided for the rehabilitation of wastewater treatment plants, and as a Senior Structural Engineer at CMA Architects & Engineers LLP, involved in various industrial and infrastructure projects. Alberto holds both a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.
