Jon Stacey

Jon Stacey is an experienced geologist and exploration manager currently employed at First Quantum Minerals as the Exploration Manager for the Africa region since June 2023. Prior to this role, Jon worked as a Consulting Geologist at Tangila Exploration Limited from October 2010 to October 2023, providing specialized geological consultancy services throughout Africa. Jon's previous positions include Resource Manager at Lubambe Copper Mine Ltd, where efforts focused on re-establishing the exploration department and leading a successful deep-drilling resource expansion program, and President of Handa Copper Corporation overseeing exploration assets in the Republic of Congo. Additional experience includes managing a greenfield gold exploration project at AMR Gold and conducting multi-commodity exploration at Rio Tinto across various African countries. Jon holds a Master's degree in Mineral Exploration from the Colorado School of Mines and a BSc in Geology from Cardiff University, along with other educational qualifications.
