Edward Harrison is a board member at the First State Community Action Agency. Edward previously served as an operations officer and assistant fire support coordinator for the 1st Infantry Division. In their role as operations officer, they served as the “transitions team lead” for the Commanding General of the 1st Infantry Division as they prepared for their new role as the Commanding General of the V Corps. Edward was also responsible for drafting the initial 30-60-90 transition plan, which included initial Army leadership and community engagements at Fort Knox as well as NATO LANDCOM, EUCOM, FORSCOM and USAREUR. As assistant fire support coordinator, they deployed and worked as the Strike Director for the Division DTAC for the Combined Joint Forces Land Component Command - Operation Inherent Resolve (Iraq). In this role, they were in charge of daily operations, coordination of all surface fires, rotary wing strikes, and close air support strikes in support of Operation Eagle Strike (fight for Mosul). Edward worked closely with the Peshmerga forces, coalition Special Operations forces, and U.S. Special Operations. Edward led a 20 person cell that combined intelligence, fires, and operational support staff.
Edward Harrison's educational career includes obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and Government from the United States Military Academy at West Point. Edward also attended Aim High and Lick-Wilmerding High School. In addition, they hold certification from FEMA in the IS-700 National Incident Management System Course and the IS-800 National Response Framework Course. Edward is also Joint Air Operations Officer certified by the Department of the Air Force and a Joint Fires Observer certified by both the Department of the Army and the Department of the Air Force.
