William Murchison

William Murchison is an accomplished professional in train and transport planning, currently serving as the Head of Train Planning at TransPennine Express since October 2017. Murchison has extensive experience in the rail industry, previously holding roles such as Rail Enhancement Programme Manager at First TransPennine Express, where major rail projects were managed, and Timetable Bid Manager at ScotRail, overseeing timetable planning and development. Murchison's career began in transport consultancy and policy development, including a role with The Scottish Government as a Transport Policy Officer. With a Bachelor of Science degree in Transport Management and Planning from Loughborough University, Murchison has a strong foundation in logistics and transport, complemented by involvement in the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport as Treasurer and Committee Member.
