Brian Wesbury

Chief Economist at First Trust Portfolios

Brian Wesbury has an extensive work experience in the field of economics. Brian began their career as an Economist at Harris Bank in 1982 and worked there until 1990. Following that, they joined the Chicago Corporation as a Vice President & Economist from 1990 to 1992. From 1992 to 2005, they served as the Chief Economist at Griffin, Kubik, Stephens & Thompson. In 1995, they briefly worked as the Chief Economist for the Joint Economic Committee at the US Congress. Currently, they hold the position of Chief Economist at First Trust Advisors L.P., a position they have held since 2006.

Brian Wesbury completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Montana, where they studied from 1978 to 1982. Brian later pursued higher education and obtained their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Finance and Organizational Behavior from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management, attending from 1987 to 1989.
