JD East is a Vice President of Structured Investments and External Advisor Consultant at First Trust, serving since June 2012. JD focuses on enhancing the capabilities of Financial Advisors through portfolio construction, practice management, and client education. Previous roles at First Trust include Internal Wholesaler, where JD provided investment solutions across Iowa, Nebraska, and Kansas. JD began a professional journey as a Rotational Trainee with Wheaton College Football, excelling as a Starting Defensive End and Long Snapper, and also gained experience through internships at Palmer Trucks and Pebble Brook Golf Course. JD holds a B.S. in Geology and a B.A. in Business from Wheaton College, alongside an International Baccalaureate diploma from North Central High School.
