Don Nguyen

Don Nguyen, CFA, is an experienced finance professional with a strong focus on renewable energy and environmental commodities trading. Currently serving as Senior Director of Origination at FirstLight Power since October 2022, Don has previously held leadership positions at RWE Renewables and innogy SE, where responsibilities included managing substantial portfolios and leading strategic trade initiatives across North America. With a career beginning at Just Energy, Don developed expertise in trading renewable energy credits (RECs) and carbon emissions, overseeing portfolios valued at over $100 million and executing transactions worth more than $200 million. Don holds a B.A. in Economics, Chinese, and Mathematics from The University of Texas at Austin, along with prior educational experiences at the United States Military Academy at West Point and National Taiwan University.
