Jos Okkerman currently serves as the Geothermal Business Development Manager at Fishbones AS since October 2023. Okkerman has extensive experience in the geological field, having previously held positions such as Principal Geologist at Shell Upstream International, where responsibilities included leading subsurface development in Germany and providing consultancy on tight gas. Okkerman also coordinated tight gas development efforts for Shell NAM in Europe and led G&G teams at Norsk Hydro for the Tampen and Oseberg business units. Key early roles included positions at Shell SPDC as a Senior Geologist focusing on geological reservoir modeling in Nigeria, and as a Research Geologist at Shell Upstream International Europe. Starting a career in sedimentology with CCOP-East Asia, Okkerman contributed to metal and gemstone prospecting and taught sedimentology courses in various Southeast Asian countries. Okkerman holds a Master of Science in Clastic Sedimentology from Utrecht University.
