Andrew Vella is an accomplished Executive General Manager with extensive experience in mining operations, currently overseeing Surface & Opencut Projects and Coal Handling and Preparation Plant (CHPP) operations at Fitzroy Mining Operations since December 2016. Prior roles include General Manager for new project development, Site Senior Executive at various coal mines, and project management at Vale, where responsibilities encompassed managing the Carborough Downs Mine Complex and leading expansion projects. Vella's career spans multiple managerial roles in CHPP and maintenance, starting from the late 1980s in various electrical positions within the mining and construction industries. Education was completed at St. Patrick's College.
