Leonard "Skip" Calvert has a diverse work experience. Leonard "Skip" started their career as a student naval aviator in the US Navy and excelled in training. Leonard "Skip" then served as a combat naval aviator and tactical leader in VFA-211, where they flew fighter aircraft in support of missions in hostile territory.
After their time in the Navy, Calvert joined Five Guys Enterprises in 2016, initially working as a Regional Construction Manager overseeing construction projects for the burger restaurant chain. Leonard "Skip" was later promoted to Vice President, Company Operations, where they are currently responsible for managing operations within the company.
In addition to their civilian work, Calvert has been serving in the US Navy Reserve since 2016. As a Lieutenant Commander and C-130 Hercules pilot, they are currently a Department Head at Fleet Logistics Support Squadron 53.

In these roles, they were responsible for standardizing flight and operating instructions across the Navy's F/A-18E/F squadrons, leading to improved combat readiness and aircraft safety.
Leonard "Skip" Calvert has a Master of Business Administration - MBA degree in Business Administration and Management, General from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business, which they obtained from 2017 to 2019. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in English/History from Vanderbilt University from 2001 to 2005.
