Sam Burruano

Sam Burruano serves as the Executive Vice President, Chief Legal Officer, and Corporate Secretary at Five Star Bank since October 2016. In this role, Sam delivers legal advice across all company matters, oversees Governance and Human Resources functions, and advises the CEO on strategic enterprise issues while leading Environmental-Social-Governance initiatives. Previously, Sam occupied several key positions including Chief Human Resources Officer and SVP, General Counsel, where responsibilities encompassed regulatory strategy and corporate governance. Before joining Five Star Bank, Sam held the position of Assistant General Counsel at First Niagara Bank and was a Partner at Hiscock & Barclay, LLP, where counseling on corporate and contractual matters was a focus. Sam holds a Juris Doctor from Cleveland State University's Cleveland-Marshall College of Law and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from the University at Buffalo.
