Therese McNamara

Teri McNamara has extensive experience in human resources and has held several leadership positions throughout their career. Therese (Teri) started their career as the Director of Human Resources at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, where they developed and implemented labor relations and HR policies for over 10,000 employees. Therese (Teri) also played a key role in drafting labor-specific legislation during a merger with Memorial Hospital.

Teri then moved on to work at Zoots Dry Cleaning as the Vice President of Human Resources, where they successfully built the HR department and led sourcing and recruiting efforts for the executive team. Therese (Teri) also renegotiated contracts with benefits providers, resulting in significant cost savings, and led a successful campaign to defeat a unionization attempt.

After Zoots Dry Cleaning, Teri joined TJX as the Vice President of Human Resources, where they made notable accomplishments such as adapting a more strategic approach to the collective bargaining process, reducing legal fees related to employment litigation, and developing innovative methods to engage union leadership.

Teri continued their career at Quvium, Inc. as the Chief Human Resources Officer and Chief Operating Officer. In this role, they led and managed multiple functions including HR, legal, compliance, risk, investor relations, public/media relations, and general administration.

Currently, Teri is serving as the Chief Human Resources Officer at Five Star Senior Living, a leading provider of senior living options. In this role, they head the HR department and is responsible for managing human resources across over 280 communities nationwide.

Therese (Teri) McNamara earned a Doctor of Law (J.D.) degree from New England Law | Boston in the years 1991 to 1995. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) in Sociology at Suffolk University - Sawyer Business School.
