Alexandru Buburuzan

Alexandru Buburuzan is a dedicated research professional with extensive experience in artificial intelligence and machine learning. Currently serving as a Research Scientist Intern at Five AI since May 2025, Buburuzan previously held the position of Research Engineer Intern at the same company, making significant contributions such as developing a novel diffusion model for camera-lidar object inpainting, resulting in a first-authored CVPR DDADS paper and a patent filing. Prior to Five AI, Buburuzan was a Research Engineer at Rayscape, where a CE-marked algorithm for lung nodule segmentation was developed and deployed in over 100 hospitals, alongside substantial enhancements to chest X-ray classification and malignancy classification algorithms. Buburuzan began a career in machine learning as an intern at Rayscape, where a time-efficient AI model for detecting intracranial hemorrhage was created. Education includes a BSc(Hons) in Artificial Intelligence with Industrial Experience from The University of Manchester and a High School Diploma in Mathematics and Computer Science from "Grigore Moisil" High School.
