Souheil Saliba

Souheil Saliba was most recently Senior Vice President of Worldwide Industry and Partner Sales at Sun Microsystems where he managed a direct sales quota of $2.2B and led the Industry Sales teams for all verticals including Financial Service, Communications and Media, Government, Health Care and Education, Web 2.0, Manufacturing, Transportation and Energy. He was also responsible for Sun's Global Partner Sales organizations including the Global Channel, Global System Integrators and Global Independent Software Vendors (ISVs).

Prior to his role in Sales, Souheil spent three years in the role of SVP of Strategic Alliance and Technology Licensing in Corporate Development & Alliances. In this role he was instrumental in extending the Java agreement with IBM, securing agreements from IBM, EMC and other partners to port their Solaris applications to Solaris, and signing a landmark agreement with Intel. In addition, Souheil was responsible for all Inbound Technology Licensing and Open Source due diligence activities for Sun. Souheil has held various other positions during his twenty-year tenure at Sun, including that of VP of Marketing for Volume Systems, Senior Director of Engineering for Netra Systems, and Director of Worldwide Operations Engineering.

As part of Netra Systems, Souheil was the Design Engineering Director in the UK from 1997 through 1999, where he had responsibility for product development activities of the Netra ft 1800, Netra t1, Netra t1120/1125 and Netra t1400/1405- all specialized servers for the telecommunications and Service Provider industries.

Before Sun, Souheil was a senior semiconductor device engineer at Burroughs/Unisys in San Diego. He also conducted research on semi-conductor technology.

Souheil received his BSEE and MSEE degrees from the University of Rhode Island in 1984. He speaks fluent English, French and Arabic and has volunteer interest in global microeconomic development and cross-cultural education.
