Vivek Suryamurthy has a diverse range of work experience in various positions and organizations. Vivek began their career as a Research Intern at the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras in 2014. Vivek then moved on to become a Research Intern at York University in 2015, where they implemented a point-to-point navigation module on a surface vessel using Robot Operating System (ROS) and Python.
In 2016, Vivek joined YES!Delft, where as part of a course, they recommended a profitable application for a technology based on a detailed analysis of its potential. Vivek also joined Delft Aerospace Rocket Engineering as a member of the Electronics Team, where they worked from 2016 to 2017.
Vivek's work experience in 2017 includes a role as a Research Intern at Micro Aerial Vehicle lab, where they developed a vision-based technique to determine the orientation of a drone. Vivek was also part of the Autonomous Drone Race team at the TU Delft for IROS 2017.
In 2017, Vivek also worked as a Master Thesis student at the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia, where they implemented a deep learning-based robust terrain perception module on CENTAURO.
Currently, Vivek is working as a Computer Vision Engineer at Fizyr, a leading software company specializing in automated picking of items, parcels, and baggage.
Vivek Suryamurthy completed their Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Mechanical Engineering at the National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli from 2012 to 2016. Following that, they pursued a Master's degree in Bio Robotics (Bio-Mechanical Design) from Delft University of Technology from 2016 to 2018.
