Kara Freihoefer

Kara Freihoefer, PhD, currently serves as Associate Principal and Director of Healthcare Research at Flad Architects since April 2023. In addition, Kara has been an Adjunct Professor at Kent State University at Stark since June 2019, leading an Evidence-based Design in Healthcare course for a Graduate Certificate program in Health Systems and Facilities Design. Prior experience includes a role as Vice President and Director of Research at HGA Architects and Engineers from June 2010 to March 2023, where Kara focused on merging design practices with research initiatives. Educational credentials encompass a PhD in Interior Design from the University of Minnesota, a Master of Science in Design from Arizona State University, and a Bachelor of Science in Interior Architecture and Design from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
