Geoffrey Von Maltzahn

Geoffrey Von Maltzahn is a General Partner at Flagship Pioneering, a venture capital firm that funds and builds pioneering companies in life sciences and healthcare. Geoffrey was previously with Sana Biotechnology, Inc., Generate Biomedicines, Inc., Cobalt Biomedicine, Inc., Kaleido Biosciences, Indigo, Seres Therapeutics, Axcella Health, and Flagship Pioneering. In January 2009, they co-founded Sienna Biopharmaceuticals where they served as CEO until December 2016.

Geoffrey Von Maltzahn received their PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Geoffrey also holds an MS in Bioengineering from the University of California, San Diego, and an SB in Chemical Engineering from MIT.
