Kathy Derakhchan

Kathy Derakhchan, PhD, DSP, currently serves as Senior Director and Head of In Vivo Pharmacology at both Pioneering Medicines and Flagship Pioneering since July 2023. Prior experience includes roles at Takeda from January 2016 to June 2023, where responsibilities encompassed scientific leadership in nonclinical pharmacology and safety, particularly for rare diseases. Achievements also highlight contributions to regulatory submissions, advisory meetings with the FDA, and leadership roles in various pharmacology-focused projects. Prior to Takeda, Kathy held positions at Amgen, where significant achievements included contributions to publications and presentations, as well as managing in vivo safety pharmacology activities. Additional experiences encompass roles at Cardiome Pharma and the Montreal Heart Institute, complemented by extensive academic qualifications, including a Post-PhD from McGill University and a PhD from Université de Montréal. Kathy is also a certified Diplomate in Safety Pharmacology.
