Palani Palaniappan

Palani Palaniappan is an experienced executive in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries, currently serving as the Chief Technical Operations and Quality Officer, as well as Chief Technology Officer for Pioneering Medicines at Flagship Pioneering since November 2021. In addition, Palaniappan holds advisory roles, including SAB Member at Clarametyx Biosciences and CMC Advisory Board Member at Eikonoklastes Therapeutics, Inc. Prior leadership positions include Chief Technology Officer and EVP at Aruvant, as well as Senior Vice President and Head of Global Tech Ops at Sarepta Therapeutics. Palaniappan has a strong track record in biologics and gene therapy development, with contributions to the commercialization of notable therapeutics such as Entyvio, Adcetris, Velcade, and others. Academic credentials include a PhD in Chemistry from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, and postdoctoral work in Biophysics at the University of California, Riverside, and Virginia Commonwealth University, along with executive education at INSEAD and the University of Oxford.
