Devin Noordermeer

Devin Noordermeer has held a variety of roles in the horticulture and plant science fields since 2011. From 2011 to 2013, they worked as a Horticulturist for the City of Windsor, where they performed planting, weeding, pesticide application, mulching, trimming of landscape and flower installations, as well as general park maintenance. Devin then worked at ENWIN Utilities as a Stockroom Operator from 2013 to 2015. From 2015 to 2016, they worked as a Horticultural Assistant & Biocontrol Technician for GrowLiv Biologicals Ltd, where they implemented the development of an experimental rearing protocol for predatory mites, performed IPM scouting of common greenhouse pests, and assisted the Master Grower in the operation of commercial greenhouse cucumber production. From 2016 to 2018, they worked as a Senior Lab Technician at K+S Windsor Salt Ltd. / K+S Sel Windsor Ltée, where they followed GMP and HACCP practices, upheld the company's highest standard of quality via regular analysis of production sample composition and purity, measurement of ingredient rates, stringent record keeping, and isolation and investigative troubleshooting of out-of-specification products. Devin also maintained regular equipment calibration, reagent preparation, and lab cleanliness. Since 2018, they have been a Senior Plant Scientist at Flash Forest.

Devin Noordermeer completed a B.Sc. Honours in Biological Sciences at the University of Windsor from 2009 to 2014. Devin then went on to pursue a Master of Science in Botany/Plant Biology at the University of Toronto from 2018 to 2021.
