Kate Starr

Kate Starr has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Kate is currently serving as the Chief Investment Officer at Flat World Partners, an investment advisory firm specializing in Impact Investments. Prior to that, they founded Starria in 2015. Kate's previous role was as the Vice President of Capital Deployment at Heron Foundation, where they developed and implemented the investment strategy and policy for deploying the foundation's financial assets towards social missions. Kate has also held various roles at Heron Foundation, including Director of Finance and Operations, Investment Officer, and Senior Program Officer. Kate has worked as a Freelancer at Business Week, a Consultant at AT Kearney, and a Research Analyst at PRIDE Tanzania. Kate began their professional career as an Economic & Equities Analyst at First Asset Management.

Kate Starr has a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in English and Italian from Indiana University Bloomington. Kate also holds a Master's degree in International Relations and Economics from The Johns Hopkins University. In addition, they have a certification as a Chartered Financial Analyst from the CFA Institute.
