Louis Gariepy

Louis Gariepy has over 25 years of experience in the insurance and reinsurance industry. Louis currently serves as the Chief Actuary at Fleming Re, a position they have held since March 2022. Prior to that, they held the same role at Premia Re from July 2020 to July 2021. From 2019 to 2020, Louis was the Chief Actuary - Pricing at Premia Re Bermuda.

Before joining Fleming Re and Premia Re, Louis held various senior-level positions at Equator Reinsurances Ltd., Liberty Mutual Insurance, ACE Trempest Re Canada/USA, ACE Tempest Re, ACE Bermuda, RLI, and Coopers & Lybrand. Louis'sroles included Head of Reserving and Capital at Equator Reinsurances Ltd., Chief Actuary Reserving - Commercial at Liberty Mutual Insurance, SVP & Underwriter at ACE Trempest Re Canada/USA, SVP & Chief Risk Officer at ACE Tempest Re, Chief Actuary at ACE Bermuda, and Actuary at RLI and Coopers & Lybrand.

Throughout their career, Louis has developed strong expertise in actuarial work, risk management, pricing, reserving, and underwriting. Louis has a track record of leadership and strategic decision-making within the reinsurance industry.

Louis Gariepy attended PSQ from 1979 to 1985. However, no specific degree or field of study was mentioned for this educational experience. From 1985 to 1988, they furthered their education at Université Laval, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Actuarial Studies.
