Michael Burgess

Michael Burgess currently serves as the Group Carbon & Environmental Performance Manager at Fletcher Building, a position held since October 2018, overseeing environmental performance data across approximately 30 business units and handling internal reporting and investor indices. Previously, Michael was the Group Environmental Manager at Fletcher Building, providing strategic and technical advice on environmental management both in New Zealand and internationally. Prior to this, Michael worked as an Environmental & Chemical Technologist at Tasman Insulation, contributing to product development in the glasswool insulation industry. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Chemistry and a Certificate in Data and Analytics from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, along with multiple degrees in Chemistry from The University of Auckland.
