Daniel Dreßler's educational career began with him completing their A-Levels at Frankenlandschulheim Schloss Gaibach in Bavaria. Daniel then went on to do an internship before studying Business Administration and Management, General at Corvinus University of Budapest. After completing their Bachelor's degree, they did their military service before undertaking a Master's degree in the same field at University of Mannheim. Daniel then became a researcher in the Department of Corporate Taxation and Public Finance at Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW). Following this, they undertook a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Taxation at University of Mannheim and later became a Visiting Fellow at University of California, Berkeley. Dreßler is also certified as a CPA (German "Wirtschaftsprüfer"​), CPA (US), and Certified Tax Advisor (German "Steuerberater"​).
