Lucas Burson has worked in the software engineering field since 2011. Lucas began their career as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Wichita State University, where they conducted research on optimizing data routing in battery-constrained sensor networks. Theirwork was accepted to IEEE MASS'12 and IEEE GLOBECOM 2013. In 2011, they also began working as a Student Software Developer at NetApp, where they worked on tools used by architects that assisted in editing and publishing of design specifications. In 2013, they moved on to High Touch Technologies as a Software Engineer, and then back to NetApp as a Software Engineer, where they worked with a team of professionals developing solutions in datacenter storage. In 2017, they became a Software Engineering Contractor at Flint Hills Group, a custom software development company that solves business problems. Since 2022, they have been a Member Of Technical Staff at Oracle OCI.

Lucas Burson obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from Wichita State University between 2009 and 2012.
