Dale Zak has held a variety of roles in the software engineering field since 2009. From 2009-2011, they were the Co-Founder and Coordinator of Apps4Good, a nonprofit organization that aimed to use technology to help empower disadvantaged groups. In 2011, they were the Co-Founder and Coordinator of Whitespace, a nonprofit organization that aimed to use technology to help empower disadvantaged groups in the community. From 2013-2016, they were the Co-Founder and CTO of OneStory Inc., a video storytelling platform. From 2016-2019, they were the Chief Technology Officer of OFAS - Online Form Automation System, leading the software development team. In 2020, they were the Head of Engineering at Project Wayfinder, leading the software development team and designing and building an education platform. Currently, they are a Staff Engineer at FlipGive and a Lead Backend Developer at Mission.
Dale Zak attended the University of Saskatchewan from 1998 to 2003, where they earned an Honours Degree in Computer Science Software Engineering.
