Samantha Sharif

NZ Independent Director at Flirtey

Samantha Sharif has held a variety of roles in the corporate world since 2016. In that year, they were appointed as the NZ Independent Director of Flirtey, a US-based global commercial drone company specialising in time-sensitive last mile logistics. In 2019, they were appointed as an Independent Director of the Museum of Transport and Technology (MOTAT) and as a Member of the Wellington Branch Committee of the Institute of Directors in New Zealand. In 2020, they were appointed as an Independent Director of MFL Mutual Fund Superannuation Scheme and SIL Mutual Fund, and as a Member of the Audit & Risk Committee of the Dept. of Corrections and as Deputy Chair of the NZ Shareholders Association. In 2021, they were appointed as an Independent Director of New Talisman Gold Mines Ltd and as a Member of the External Reporting Board Advisory Panel. Most recently, in 2022, they were appointed as an Independent Director of NZ Automotive Investments Ltd, helping Kiwis afford great cars.

Samantha Sharif completed a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) from 1984 to 1987. Samantha then went on to obtain a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from Victoria University of Wellington from 1997 to 1999. In 2001 and 2002, they acquired a Graduate Diploma in Company Secretarial Practice from the Institute of Chartered Secretaries Australia, which focused on governance, commercial law, and finance. Additionally, they obtained a Grad Dip CSP certification.
