Ian Gordon has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Ian started working as a Commissioning Technician at Birmingham Cable in 1993. From 1994 to 1997, they served as a Technical Support Engineer at DSC Communication Ltd (formerly NKT). Ian then moved on to become the Systems Engineering Manager at Digital Microwave Corporation (DMC) from 1997 to 2000, where they specialized in SDH and PDH microwave radio products. After that, they joined Ericsson as an Optical and Microwave Solutions Architect from 2000 to 2007, where they provided technical support and designed network solutions using various transmission technologies. From 2007 to 2008, they worked at telent as a Systems Engineer, focusing on system integration solutions for transport systems. Ian then joined Virgin Media as a DWDM/CWDM transmission planner from 2008 to 2014, where they were responsible for designing circuits for high capacity Ethernet customer solutions. Ian then worked as a Microwave Transmission Planning Engineer (Contractor) at NEC Europe Ltd for a short period in 2014. This was followed by a role as a Transmission Planning Engineer (Contractor) at Arqiva from 2014 to 2015. Most recently, they have been working as a Senior Transmission Engineer at Flomatik Network Services since April 2021.
Ian Gordon attended Coventry Technical College from 1985 to 1990. During their time there, they pursued a BTEC HNC in Telecommunication Engineering.
