Amanda Strain holds a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Capella University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Dallas Baptist University. Currently serving as a Clinician at the Helen Ross McNabb Center since October 2023, Amanda brings extensive experience in mental health and substance use treatment. Previously, Amanda managed the Substance Use Services Program at Denton County MHMR Center and provided individual counseling for chemical dependency and mental health disorders through Amanda Strain Counseling. Amanda's earlier experience includes roles as an LCDC Intern and Assistant Counselor at Sundown Ranch Inc., and military service as a Master At Arms and Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection Specialist in the US Navy. Amanda is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Human Rights Practice at the University of Arizona.
