Gregg Fields has a diverse work experience in academia and research. Gregg is currently serving as the Interim Vice President for Research and also as the Co-Director of the MCIFAU FDoH Cancer Center of Excellence at Florida Atlantic University. In 2019, they became the Executive Director of the Institute for Human Health and Disease Intervention at Florida Atlantic University. Prior to this, they held the position of Adjunct Professor at The Scripps Research Institute Florida. From 2014 to 2019, Gregg Fields was a Professor and Chair of the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry at Florida Atlantic University. Gregg also served as the Vice President of Scientific Affairs at Torrey Pines Institute for Molecular Studies from 2010 to 2014. Before that, they were the Robert A. Welch Foundation Professor of Chemistry at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio from 2008 to 2010. Starting in 1997, Gregg Fields worked as a Professor and Chair at Florida Atlantic University until 2008. Gregg began their career in academia as an Assistant/Associate Professor at the University of Minnesota Medical Center from 1991 to 1997.
Gregg Fields received their B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Florida in 1982. Gregg went on to earn their Ph.D. in Chemistry from Florida State University in 1988. Following this, they pursued a Postdoctoral Scholar position in Pharmaceutical Chemistry at the University of California, San Francisco - School of Medicine from 1988 to 1991.
