Luz Stella Polanco

Luz Stella Polanco is a seasoned professional in the field of chemical engineering with extensive experience in research and development within the sugar manufacturing industry. Currently serving as a Senior Research and Development Scientist at Florida Crystals since June 2015, Luz Stella specializes in areas such as statistics, quality control, chemistry, energy, modeling, and process optimization. Prior experience includes a role as a Research Associate at the Audubon Sugar Institute, where Luz Stella developed an innovative approach for producing VHP and VLP sugar, and management responsibilities as a Laboratory Manager at Central Tumaco S.A., overseeing quality and production processes. Academic qualifications include a Ph.D. in Engineering Science and a Master’s in Chemical Engineering from Louisiana State University, along with a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering from Universidad del Valle.
