Scott Turner

Scott Turner has extensive work experience in public health. From 2013, they served as the Director of Environmental Health at the Florida Department of Health in Duval County, overseeing various program areas such as food safety, air quality, and sanitary complaint investigation. In 2015, they took on the role of Director of Emergency Preparedness, managing planning, training, and partnerships with other agencies. Additionally, they briefly served as the Director of Epidemiology during the same period. In 2020, they joined Florida Health as the Director of Epidemiology, concluding their position in 2021.

Scott Turner holds a Master's Degree in Public Administration from the University of North Florida, which they obtained in 2002. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from the University of West Florida in 1995. Scott also holds certifications as a Registered Environmental Health Specialist/Registered Sanitarian (REHSRS) from the Florida Environmental Health Association, obtained in 1999, and as a Certified Environmental Health Professional from the Florida Department of Health.
