Whurriah Lys

Whurriah Lys, MSQA, MSPharm, is a dedicated professional with extensive experience in laboratory science and education. Currently serving as a Medical Laboratory Scientist II at the Florida Department of Health in Duval County since August 2020, Whurriah focuses on molecular testing of SARS-CoV-2 specimens. Previously, Whurriah worked as an educator at Clayton County Public Schools, teaching science and general courses to K-12 students. Additional experience includes a role as a R&D Analyst at The Coca-Cola Company, and quality assurance positions at Kellogg Company and T. Marzetti Company. Whurriah holds multiple degrees, including a Master’s in Forensic DNA & Serology from the University of Florida, a Master of Science in Quality Assurance from Southern Polytechnic State University, and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University.
