Florida House of Representatives
Scott McPherson has over two decades of experience in information technology leadership within Florida's government sector. Currently serving as the Chief Information Officer (CIO) for the Florida House of Representatives since November 2006, McPherson previously held the position of CIO at the Florida Department of Corrections from March 2001 to October 2006, where a disaster recovery framework was established. McPherson's career also includes pivotal roles such as Director of the Office of Information Security for the State of Florida, where the first full-time enterprise cybersecurity office was created, earning Florida national recognition. Additionally, McPherson led significant initiatives like the Sunshine Count 2000 Census partnership and Team Florida 2000, directing the largest IT project in the state’s history.

Established by s. 1, Art. III of the State Constitution, the Florida House of Representatives is one of chambers of the Florida Legislature. The House is composed of 120 members elected to 2-year terms. The House traces its history back to Florida's statehood in 1845.
