Jamie Ousley

Jamie Ousley is an accomplished Professor of Jazz Bass at Florida International University, serving in this role since January 2009, and specializes in teaching jazz improvisation, history, ensembles, and private bass lessons. As a professional jazz musician since 1994, Jamie has extensive performance experience on bass. Previous roles include working as a musician at Lyon and Lyon Catering in 2010 and serving as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Miami from 2000 to 2003. Jamie's educational background includes a Doctor of Musical Arts and a Master of Music in Jazz Bass Performance from the University of Miami, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Virginia Tech.
