Carlos Salas has a diverse work experience spanning from 2013 to the present. Carlos began their career as a Summer High School Intern at NextEra Energy Transmission in 2013. In 2014, they worked at Leslie Adams Law, where they created and managed a website and portal, ensuring that client information was encrypted and secure.

From 2015 to 2016, Carlos served as a Produce Associate at Winn-Dixie, where they interacted with customers, stocked shelves, and organized inventory. Carlos then joined Florida Power & Light Company in 2017 as an Intern - Tax Technology Analyst, where they automated daily SOX compliance processes and assisted with tax calculations.

In 2018, Carlos transitioned into the field of Cybersecurity and started working at Florida Power & Light Company as a Cyber Security Analyst. There, they responded to cybersecurity events, performed investigations and incident response activities, ran searches for IOCs, and automated processes using Python.

In addition to their professional roles, Carlos engaged in independent work from 2016 to the present, focusing on the development of a wireless personal router that enhances network security and ease of use.

Carlos Salas earned a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology from the University of South Florida in 2017. Carlos continued their education at the same university and obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Cyber Intelligence in 2021. In January 2020, they also obtained a certification as a GIAC Certified Penetration Tester (GPEN) from GIAC Certifications.
