Rey Vega is an experienced educator and Deaf mentor with a strong background in teaching American Sign Language (ASL) and providing support to individuals who are Deaf or hard of hearing. Currently serving as a Deaf Mentor at the Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind since November 2019, Rey also teaches ASL classes at Indian River State College and Miami Dade College, with previous roles at Palm Beach State College. With extensive experience as a Certified Deaf Interpreter and in various teaching roles, including full-time Deaf/Hard of Hearing teaching at the Palm Beach County School District, Rey has a comprehensive understanding of educational needs within the Deaf community. Educational qualifications include a Master of Education in Special Education - Deaf and Hard of Hearing from the University of North Florida and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Applied Mathematics from the Rochester Institute of Technology.
