Darrel Stephens

Darrel Stephens has extensive experience in law enforcement and public safety, currently serving as the Co-Director of the Policing, Security Technology & Private Security Research and Policy Institute at Florida State University since August 2021. In addition, Darrel Stephens is the owner of Darrel Stephens Group, LLC, and has held prominent positions such as Executive Director of the Major Cities Chiefs Association from October 2010 to October 2017, and Chief of Police for various cities, including Charlotte Mecklenburg PD and St. Petersburg. Darrel Stephens also served as Director of State and Local Programs at Johns Hopkins University and has a strong academic background, holding a Master's in Public Administration from the University of Central Missouri and a certificate from Harvard Kennedy School.
