Derrick Woodard currently serves as the Human Services Coordinator for the Upward Bound Program at Florida State University, where mentoring first-generation and/or low-income high school students in Gadsden County is a primary focus. Derrick has previously worked as an Admissions Counselor, engaging potential students through both virtual and in-person meetings, and has experience as a Summer Residential Counselor, providing guidance to high school students during their college application process. Prior roles include tutoring middle school students in various subjects, presenting research at the Florida Undergraduate Research Conference, and conducting research on the Black student experience at predominantly white institutions. Derrick holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology and an Associate of Arts degree, and currently pursues a Master of Education in Higher Education Administration at Florida State University.
